Indeed, a widespread use of E-currency would pose a problem to the government because of the difficulty in regulating its use. Furthermore, this will require international cooperation in developing oversights/regulations because of its nature. There are also many security implications and risks with adopting E-currency.

Are you anticipating that a majority of Singaporeans would be willing and able to make the shift to utilising E-currency by 2030?

Yes, I think many people will shift to digital and crypto currencies as it provides them convenience and rewarding experience with the improvement in wearable technolgies like smartwatches and glasses it will further improve. We could even see millions of dollars changing hands with simple eye ball movements, already technologies like Hollow glasses can do this.
