Population is going to rise by 2030 in order to produce more food and to get more economic yield, neighboring countries like Indonesia will try to produce more agricultural produce to full fill their need. That means every year they will produce different kinds of crops and clear lot of forests the usual practice there is uncontrolled slash and burn agricultural practice which is major reason for Haze in Singapore, since it is man made event it quite unpredictable, also it leads to a lot of deaths due to smoke and dust inhaling in these regions.
Air quality will drop in Singapore and Malaysia despite governments of these 2 nations is trying hard to combat it. It also lead to air and road accidents due to low visibility.
How will this change impact Smart Nation Singapore in 2030?
The air quality in Singapore will decrease, more pollution, haze problems will increase. Singapore Government along with Malaysian Government will have to help educate people in Indonesia about the ill effects of slash and burn practice. Cutting edge technologies like drones equipped with thermal imaging cameras can help identify the source of fire and help control wild fires. Singapore and Malaysia will consider investing in a fire extinguishing ships and planes which can doze of fires quickly not allowing the fire to spread and haze from building up.
