Thank you for submitting your trend!

Nuclear security is a pertinent threat to Singapore's national security. There are serious legal implications related to 3D printing. The printing of nuclear power plant parts is an additional risk on top of being able to 3D print weapons. Do you think the advancements in 3D printing would have advanced to a point where a viable nuclear plant would be printed by 2030? What are the advantages/disadvantages of a 3D printed power plant, particularly one owned by a nation state, as mentioned in your trend?

Yes, why wait till 2030 that advancement has already happened, I think there is already enough information available online and parts, DIY tool available to build a working nuclear reactor.

Advantages of 3D Printed power plant:-

  1. Rapid prototyping and building.
  2. Easy maintenance and repair.
  3. Low cost.

Disadvantages of 3D Printed power plant:-

  1. Structurally unstable and possess a lot of risk.
  2. Can easily be turned to weapons as well.
  3. Less security so it might easily fall into hands of defaulters.
