Description
Make life easier/more difficult for Singapore?
More difficult
Describe the change
by 2030, warfare for Singapore would no longer be waged on battlefields with physical weapons. Traditional methods of killings and destruction would no longer be feasible as countries become a smart nation, changing the trends of future warfare.
Not only was the old traditional a waste of resources and manpower, it also causes many unnecessary disruption and economical impact. As countries main interest shifted from territorial and claims to power and influence, the cyber is a vulnerable channel especially where countries are competing against each other to be the smartest nation in terms of technological innovations and cyber security.
By 2030, i believe countries would be competing for cyber influence and against each other in the digital world which would be an important part of our lives living in a smart nation.
How will this change impact Smart Nation Singapore in 2030?
The shifting trends from physical warfare to cyber warfare would affect Singapore because Singapore are simple spending too much time and effort on its military defense force which would soon be a things of the past and become obsolete with countries progressing towards technological advances.
How Singapore is preparing to become a smart nation is by grooming more programmers by inducing programming courses to early education to benefits its cyber economy in the future but what it did not take into concern is that with a blooming cyber economy, we do not need soldiers to protect them but instead we need people such as cyber security or information security specialists.
Currently Singapore in highly in demand of people of such relevant skills and there are one main reasons why it will continue till 2030. Firstly, Singapore outsource many of its IT specialists from overseas to fill up the vacancies, leaving Singaporean a low paying position and causing most of them to make a career switch.
