This is an interesting angle to technology often forgotten. A smart nation will enable increased connectivity, and a generation familiar to social media. With the onslaught of social media and negative messaging, there have also been initiatives to engender a kinder online community. In this case, a bottom-up approach may prove more effective.

It would be useful to consider how society may progress by 2030. Could a smart nation, intended to bring about convenience and a better standard of living, result in a more divided society?
