5G will accelerate Singapore's race to be a smart nation with speeds almost 1000x times faster than 4G, new services and technologies tht were unimaginable due to data transfer constraints will be a reality.
According to Moore's law " The number of transistors per square inch on integrated circuits had doubled every year since the integrated circuit was invented". Increase in processing power is directly linked with faster data transfer speed, that is the reason it took much time to get to 2G and then to 3G and faster move to 4G. So 2 becomes for 4 becomes 16 and 16 becomes 32. Meaning as time increases the magnitude increases exponentially.
How will this change impact Smart Nation Singapore in 2030?
IOT technologies will bloom, the world will become a global village with superior communication speeds, data security will be the priority of every corporation as with this high speed networks Terabytes of data can be stolen in fraction of seconds, the time which humans won't be able to respond manually.
