Many are anticipating that the future of work will indeed shift towards freelancing, and that there will be a global workforce. Singaporeans may be able to live abroad whilst contributing to the local economy, and vice versa. 

Are you suggesting that this trend will have a bigger impact on the elderly? Why and how so? Are there any communities that may benefit from such changes in the workforce?

Elderly people will prefer freelancers as they can get their work done easily for a few dollars rather than they spending hours on it and messing it up. Jobless youth in developing nations will benefit from it.
